Toussaint Grugel era filho de alemão cc francesa, parece que natural de
Strasburg, quase na divisa alemã. Suponho que o apelido alemão fosse
Grüguel, ou coisa parecida (pronúncia paroxítona) que passou, na França a
ser Grugel (pronúncia oxítona) e que, no Rio mudou para Gurgel.
