Foi êle vereador em 1801, 1806,
1812, 1813, servindo neste último ano como Juiz Ordinário. Faleceu em 1853, com testamento, em Campinas, tendo deixado da primeira cinco filhos, da segunda 5 e 6 da terceira. Em 1792 contava 19 anos de idade. No ano de 1797 teve seu nome incluído na lista dos "homens bons da terra e a 29 de outubro e a 14 de dezembro assinou o têrmo da Ereção da Freguesia. Nesse ano contava 24 anos e sua mulher d. Manoela Camargo estava com 24, tendo os filhos de nomes Inácio, com 2 e José, com 1 ano. Moravam no bairro da Ponte Alta e tinham seis escravos. Foi vereador nos anos de 1.801, 1.806 e 1.812 e juiz ordinário em 1813, sendo em 1816 possuidor de Engenho de Açúcar na Vila.

José Pedro de Morais e sua mulher d. Francisca de Paula Camargo,
filho e sogro de Domingos, sendo que na propriedade havia duas fábricas de fazer açúcar, «sendo uma nova e outra velha, perto das fábricas havia sempre «barro para se misturar com o mesmo açúcar.
