Claudionor Viana Teles Velloso, mais conhecida como Dona Canô, mãe de Caetano Veloso e Maria Bethânia, e mais seis filhos, nasceu em 16 de setembro de 1907, sendo seus pais Anísio César de Oliveira Viana e Júlia Vianna.
De instrução primária, pertencente a uma família humilde, D. Canô se tornou uma das pessoas mais ilustres de Santo Amaro da Purificação, e da Bahia.
Sua biografia foi publicada pelo historiador Antônio Guerreiro de Freitas e por Arthur Assis Gonçalves da Silva, no livro "Canô Velloso, lembranças do saber viver".
Extremamente simples, quando interrogada sobre seu prestígio, respondia: "Fiquei conhecida por causa de meus dois filhos que nunca se esqueceram de onde vieram nem da mãe que têm".
D. Canô se tornou uma figura pública. Suas atitudes e opiniões tinham enorme pristígio. Por ocasião dos festejos de seu centenário, Monsenhor Sadock declarou: "Quando eu pergunto lá fora quem é Canozinha, todo mundo responde que é amãe de Bethânia e Caetano. Pois aqui em Santo Amaro, eles é que são filhos de Canozinha".
Quando completou 90 anos de idade, o Senador e ex-Governador Antônio Carlos Magalhães, homenageou-a afirmando: "A Bahia se regozija com uma vida a serviço de Santo Amaro e do povo baiano. Dona Canô é símbolo da Bahia, um símbolo que produziu grandes nomes". O Governador Jaques Wagner, por ocasião do seu centenário, declarou: "A fragilidade do seu corpo contrasta com o gigantismo da sua alma". Os presidentes Lula e Dilma Rousseff à matriarca dedicam especial carinho. Por ocasião da última campanha eleitoral para presidente da República, Caetano Veloso decarou que "Marina Silva é inteligente como Obama, não é analfabeta como Lula, que não sabe falar, é cafona falando, grosseiro". D. Canô reprimiu o filho, dizendo "Lula não merece isso. Quero muito bem a ele. Foi uma ofensa sem necessidade. Caetano não tinha que dizer aquilo". Pouco depois, Lula telefonou para D. Canô, ponto um ponto final ao desconforto com as seguintes palavras: "D. Canô, não fique chateada, preocupada, porque gosto muito da senhora e gosto do Caetano também"...
Nâo obstante, D. Canô sempre repetia: "Tenho amizade com os políticos, mas é amizade, amizade, política à parte"
