João Francisco Laynes, que falleceu em 18 de Julho de 1812 com 70 annos.

Teve origem esta Família no Sargento mór O. João Francisco Laynes natural de Granada - Hespanha, d' onde passou ao Brasil vindo se estabelecer em Paranaguá onde se casou com Maria Cursina de Brito e Silva filha do Mestre de Campo Diogo Pinto do Rego. Em 1738 era Sargento mór, e requereu da Camara de Paranaguá concessão de terra no Porto de Cima para edificar sua casa e armazens e estabelecer pastagens para os animaes que de serra acima demandassem o littoral, concessão que lhe foi feita a 8 de Novembro de 1838.
Possuía fazendas de criação de gado vaccum em Piraquara. Por morte do Capitão mór regente de Paranaguá Anastacio de Freitas Trancozo, foi pela Camara empossado nesse cargo em sessão solene de 22 de Junho de 1743 o Sargento mór Laynes. Foi vulto de valor e respeito; já era fallecido em 1750.
