Outro grande servidor de São Paulo, do Brasil e desta casa, que infelizmente perdemos, foi o dr. WILLIAM ROBERTO MARINHO LUTZ, natural do Rio de Janeiro, filho do Dr. Roberto Lutz e de dona Maria Francisca Marinho Lutz, nascido aos 2 de janeiro de 1896 e falecido aos 7 de janeiro do corrente ano ((1987)).

Diplomado pela Escola Nacional de Engenharia do Rio de Janeiro, radicou-se em São Paulo e prestou a este Estado e ao país relevantíssi- mos serviços em sua especialização profissional, como Engenheiro Geógrafo Civil e Eletricista, pelo que, a Municipalidade Paulistana, num dos atos mais justos e meritórios, lhe conferiu o título de "Cidadão Paulistano".

Eleito sócio honorário do Instituto Histórico e Geográfico de São Paulo, em 15 de março de 1969, o dr. Marinho Lutz foi Presidente do Club dos 21 Irmãos-Amigos, pertenceu ao Instituto Histórico Guarujá-Bertioga e entre as suas colaborações que mais de perto se ligaram às nossas atividades históricas, destacamos a sua valiosa ajuda a realização, em 1967, do Curso Museus do Brasil, promoção do Instituto Guarujá-Bertioga, desta Casa e do Serviço de Museus Histó- ricos do Estado, importantíssimo estudo feito em nossa Capital com a participação dos mais importantes museus brasileiros, do Amazonas ao Rio Grande do Sul. Criatura boníssima: afável e prestativa, não se poderia manter a margem das instituições que se consagram ao bem comum. Daí a sua participação pessoal, desprendida e operosa, na vida rotária nacional, tendo mesmo presidido o Rotary Club de São Paulo, de 1976 a 1977. O seu desaparecimento abre sensível lacuna nos meios sociais, culturais e associativos de São Paulo.
