Genoveva Marques d'Amorim esposa de Antonio Marques d'Amorim, por ocasião do baile oferecido pela Associação Comercial de Pernambuco, da qual era presidente o seu marido, e quando da visita dos imperadores do Brasil, D. Pedro II e D. Thereza Christina, realizado no recém construido edifício do Hospital D. Pedro II, foi distinguida por aquele soberano que a convidou para dançar uma das quadrilhas do referido baile. (Neste baile, D. Pedro II dançou 5 vezes, na seguinte órdem, com as senhoras: D. Maria Anna Cavalcanti do Rego Barros, então Viscondessa da Boa Vista, D. Maria de Los Angeles de Souza Leão, futura Baronesa de Vila Bela, esposa do Dr. Domingos de Souza Leão, D. Joaquina Lemos, esposa do Sr. João Pinto de Lemos Jr, D. Candida Victoria de Sá e Albuquerque, depois Viscondessa de Guararapes, e a última com a citada D. Genoveva Marques d'Amorim. Por outro lado, D. Thereza Christina também dançou 5 vezes, na seguinte ordem: com os srs. Conselheiro João de Almeida Pereira, Ministro do Império, Dr. Luis Barbalho Muniz Fiuza, Presidente da Província, Francisco do Rego Barros, então Visconde da Boa Vista, depois Conde da Boa Vista, Domingos de Souza Leão, depois Barão de Vila Bela, e finalmente com Pedro Francisco de Paula Cavalcanti de Albuquerque, Barão de Camaragibe), não constando, oficialmente, que tenha dançado com Antonio Marques d'Amorim, como referem alguns autores.
