Isaac Addams settled in what is now Spring Township,Berks County, in Sinking Spring. The home which he erected and used was later the Blue Lantern Inn, formerly known as the Sinking Spring Hotel, on the South side of Route 422, West of the intersection with the Shillington- Sinking Spring Road. It has since been torn down to make way for a Macdonald's fast food place. After farming for some years Isaac moved to Reading, where he lived till his death. He is buried in his own plot in Charles Evans Cemetary. In 1776 he became Captain of the Reading Company of Major Peter Grubb's Battalion of Penna Associators. He served as commissioner of Berks County, 1797 - 1800, & he was a member of the Penna Assembly, 1804 - 1805. In the Menonite History Isaac Addams is listed in the Lancaster 9th Battalion, Cocalico Twshp 4th Company from Addamstown. Isaac and Barbara Ruth were Married by the Rev. William Kurtz at New Holland Penna. Isaac and Barbara Ruth Addams were buried at First Reformed UCC Church Graveyard, later moved to Chas Evans Cemetary on the Isaac Addams lot, 15 people are buried on this lot 25-29 Sect 0, Adams, Cook,Haak & Westbrook. !Mil:Rev War. !Source Birth:Hist & Biog Annals of Berks Co Pa by M L Montgomery P 546,633; First Ref Ucc P385.
