SOURCE NOTES: He emi- grated with his brother, Melchoir, in 1709 to America, arriving May 3, 1709 via London. He came either from the Palatinate or Switzerland. In 1709 he lived in Germantown, PA. He was a weaver and mennonite preacher in Skippack, Pa. He bought land and soon became well to do. The Zieglers were very well to do in Germany, but had to leave there because of religious wars. Some of the Mennonites were beheaded in Germany. No grave markers re- main for his family at the Skippack Mennonite Cemetery. Married CATHERINE (117), born about 1690. Children of Michael ZIEGLER , THE EMIGRANT and CATHERINE: 1 Margaret ZIEGLER (129). 2 Barbara ZIEGLER (132).
