Notes 1: 4. GEORGE A. GERBERICH (3) was born in East Hanover Twp., Lebanon Co., Pa., Feb. 3, 1802, and was married about 1825 to Anna Barbara Shuey, born in the same place, Oct. 5, 1803. She was the daughter of John Ludwig Shuey and Anna Margaret Edris, and a granddaughter of Henry Shuey. They had five sons and one daughter, Jacob, Elizabeth, Edward, John, George, and Adam. They lived on a large farm near Rankstown, adjoining his father's farm. This property is now owned by Aaron Heisey. They both began housekeeping on this farm and lived and died there. She departed this life Sept. 5, 1863; he survived her by twenty years, and died Feb. 5, 1884. Both are buried at Walmers Church, of which they were devout members. George A. Gerberich was a fine example of the sturdy, agriculture-loving type of the ancient Gerberichs, and his descendants unite in almost equal portions the strains of those three old families, the Shueys, the Walmers, and the Gerberichs. It is said that while his brother John Adam, the youngest son, was the favorite of his parents, George A. was generally relied upon more than the others in matters of advice and importance. He was one of the executors of his father's will, and saw to it that all the provisions were faithfully carried out. Notes 2:
