Pension#: S14798 & W10278 - Widow: Virginia A. - Unit: 20th Russell's Cav. Enlisted Dec 1, 1863 at Camp Bell Tn, by Col Bell for 3 years. Bay mule valued at $600. Present on roll for Mar/April 1864. Present on roll for May/June 1864. Wounded at Harrisburg. File contains 1915 Tn pension inquiry. On roll of prisoners surrendered at Citronelle, AL, May 4, 1865. Residence Dresden TN. Born Sept 27, 1846 in Weakley Co TN, the son of Thomas P. White and Rebecca Kittrell White. Entered Confederate service on Nov 28, 1863 at Newbern, TN. Marched to Molton, AL to receive arms, then to Oxford, MS for drill. First battle was Okolona. Present at Paducah and Fort Pillow. Wounded in arm at Harrisburg and sent to hospital at Lauderdale Springs, MS. Rejoined company at Verona, MS in February 1865. Paroled May 12th, 1865 at Gainesville, AL. Arrested by bushwhackers on way home. After war worked in tobacco business and as farmer. Living 1928. 1910 Weakley Co., TN, Dist. 24 Census lists him as a Confederate Veteran.
