*1790 Craven County, NC census seems to apply to this Jonathan:

Craven County 1 3 7 0
KITRELL, JONATHAN (1790 U.S. Census) Craven County 1 3 7 0NORTH CAROLINA , CRAVEN, NEWBERN DISTSeries: M637 Roll: 7 Page: 434

which would imply as many as six (or even seven if Deliverance had died) daughters.
Thus to show this I have added six entries.

Also there is a possibility of a second spouse as the dates of deaths of this generation are mostly unknown.

Book 40 Page 332-333 January 20, 1817 Court June 1818
Jonathan Kiterl to Alexander Taylor. 50 acres located on southeast side of Bathlor Creek.
These were the only land transactions found for Jonathan Kittrell in Craven Co.

1790 Census of Craven County shows Jonathan Kittrell listed three sons and six daughters. Also listed two of his sons Jethro Kittrell and Joseph Kittrell on the 1790 census as living in their own households.

DANIEL KITTRELL...Was he a son of Jonathan Kittrell? Daniel Kittrell married Nancy Witherington in Craven on November 29, 1830 (also date of January 13, 1831 is shown). Nothing further is found in Craven County on Daniel Kittrell.
Nancy Kittrel is shown as marrying John Simmons on December 15, 1838. In 1841 William Kiteral and Joseph Kittrell are shown in School District #8 Batchlor Creek. You will note that Jaonathan Kittrell sold land on Batchlor Creek in 1817. Were William and Joseph sons of Daniel and Nancy Kittrell?
Later on the 1850 Census of Craven County shows Nancy Simmons living in the household of Wal Worthington. She is shown as age 50 and Wal is 49. Were they brother and sister? Also listed in the household was William Kettle (Kittrell). CHILDREN OF JONATHAN KITTRELL
JOSEPH KITTRELL, according to will of his grandfather he is a son. Married Rachel Moore.
JETHRO KITTRELL, feel certain he is son also..might have been named for
Jonathan's brother Jethroe Kittrell )Bill Kittrell' line)
DANIEL KITTRELL, married Nancy Witherington (feel he is a son as he is in
the same area...don't think he is son of Absalom Kittrell)
WILLIAM KITTRELL, some list him as a son. According to some records he was in War of 1812. Chloe Kittrell filed for pension of William Kittrell as his widow.
Chloe was a CLARK. Witnesses were Elizabeth Bond and Mrs. Percy Pate. I don't know if they were her sisters or just friends.
ABSALOM KITTRELL, some say he is son, might be named for brther Absalom
Kittrell, who bought property in Dobbs (now Pitt) in 1770 and sold it and went
to South Carolina.
DAVID KITTRELL, nothing known about him. His mother Deleverance Cox Kittrell had a brother named David Cox, so she could have named a son David. Have seen no proof he was a son.
WBK NOTE: The 1790 Craven Census shows three (3) sons in household.
Jethro and Joseph were listed in their households.
