Looking for information on ancestors of David Jordan Wardlaw, II born 8 July 1905 died 26 July 1976 is buried at the Troy Cemetery, Troy, Greenwood Co, SC. His wife was Elizabeth Martin of Donalds Abbeville Co., SC.

Benjamin Jasper Martin, 2/27/1845 - 5/10/1910 married 12/19/1872 to Mary Ann Elvira Tribble 8/19/1850 - 9/9/1887. Jasper joined the Confederate troops when he turned eighteen years of age, serving in the same unit as his brother, Robert Marshall Martin, Co. I 19th SC Rifles, Manigault's Brig. Inf. Vols. They were in the war together for only six months when Robert became ill with fever and was sent home where he died in 1863. After the war Benjamin Jasper married and settled into farming adjacent to his father and brother Addison. Later, Benjamin Jasper was the first rural mail carrier for the Donalds Post Office. Benjamin Jasper and Mary Ann Tribble Martin had six children:

1. Ena Ann Martin 6/7/1874 - 8/9/1975 unmarried.

2. Nannie Othell Martin 6/7/1876 - 6/30/1927 married 9/14/1899 to

Luther Joseph Davis 12/28/1873 - 12/7/1964, no children.

3. Vesta Louella "Ella" Martin 2/17/1878 - 1958 unmarried.

4. Emma Florence Martin 8/28/1880 - 6/29/1966 unmarried.

5. Milton Tribble Martin 8/21/1882 - 6/24/1961 married 1/22/1908 to

Clara Seawright 1887 - 1911. They had two children:

a. Elizabeth Martin 1/13/1909 - 7/1983 Abbeville, SC., a school teacher married

David Jordan Wardlaw (d. 1976).

b. infant daughter b&d 1911
