Kittrell, Frederick W., Jr. 84, of Grand Prairie, passed away December 26, 2010. Fred grew up in Dallas, TX. He was a devoted husband for 64 years, a dedicated father, faithful friend, and ardent patriot. In World War II he proudly served on the USS Natoma Bay which fought in such battles as Okinawa, Saipan, and Iwo Jima. After the War, Fred married lifelong sweetheart, Bobbie Rushing, of Hawley, TX. Employed by American Airlines for 32 years; Swift Trucking Company for 4 years. Fred is survived by wife, Bobbie, son Ronnie Kittrell and wife Carla, daughter Linda Kittrell, and his three special young ladies: granddaughters Sarah Kittrell, Megan Kittrell, and Rachel Kittrell. Also survived by sister Louise Ann Gloar of Austin and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Fred was a Past Master and Life Member of the Sam R. Hamilton Masonic Lodge. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home in Grand Prairie. Graveside Service: 10:15 a.m., Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas. In lieu of flowers family requests memorials be sent to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, Dallas, TX.
