THOMAS GENTRY KETTRELL has been engaged in the practice of law in the city of Nashville for about sixteen years.
Born in Maury county, Tennessee, on the 18th day of February, 1872, Mr. Kittrell is the son of Thomas Morgan and Elizabeth (Parker) Kittrell. He comes of Scotch-Irish ancestry, with a trace of English blood on the maternal side. Up to the age of ten years he lived in the county of his birth. Then for four years he lived in Perry county, moving thence to Nashville, which city has since
represented his home. Mr. Kittrell was prepared for college at the Webb school at Bellbuckle, Tennessee, and followed that by his entrance at Vanderbilt University in Nashville. He was graduated from the latter named institution with the degree of A. B. in 1894, upon which he entered the law department of the same school and received his B. L. degree in 1896. Soon thereafter Mr. Kittrell was admitted to the bar of Tennessee, and with the single exception of one year, he has devoted his time to the practice of his profession in the city of Nashville. That year of absence was spent in the army service as second lieutenant in the Fourth Tennessee Regiment.
Mr. Kittrell is a Democrat, and has manifested a hearty interest in the affairs of that party for many years, although he has never been drawn into political contests, nor cared for political preferment of any order.
