Notes about Harry Karasek

I think it is possible that Harry had a brother named Samuel, who emigrated to Los Angeles. Per a second cousin match on 23andMe, My mother was born in Russia. Her maiden name was Karacek. The spelling on her immigration papers was different. Her parents were Sarah and Samuel, although again those were anglicized names. I believe they were from a town in Russia named Ladin. My mother was three when the family came to the states. I think they had relatives in Boston but they settled in Los Angeles. The relatives in the US that sponsored them were on my grandmother's side of the family, no Karaceks. I believe they had some sort of leather business. My grandfather was a junk man. Think Fred Sanford. The spelling on the immigration papers was Karasik.
I am 70 years old. My mom was three when they left Russia in 1922. I have no idea if my grandfather had a brother.

Interestingly, Mark is my 2nd cousin (likely once removed) on the Karacek side. Abe Bloom is my second cousin once removed on the Bloom side. However, Mark and Abe both match as distant cousins as well, so the Karaceks and the Blooms intermingled in Russia as well as the US.
