Capetown, Friday.
An enquiry was held at the Magis-
trateGÅ ??????à?????????????/s Court to-day, into the circum-
stances attending the death of Edna
Ashbury, a little girl aged three. The
father of the girl stated that they
left Johannesburg, intending to pro-
ceed on a holiday to Australia. The
child became feverish in the train,
grew worse, and died at Wellington.
The heat on the journey was excessive,
and, on passing through Kimberley,
was over 104 degrees in the shade.
The District Surgeon stated that
death was due to cerebral congestion,
probably caused by the excessive heat.
