#5 november 1678 als weeskind vermeld (ASV 276-211); 28 december 1708:Nicolaes Braet is van mening dat zijn dochter Maria 'noyt met veeloordeel is voorsien geweest' omdat zij o.a. 'haerdselven ontrent seevejaren geleden seer onbedagtelijk hebbende willen begeven ten huwelijckmet Dirk Holierhoek', hoewel hij daartegen grote bezwaren had. Hij heeftuiteindelijk toch toestemming gegeven omdat hij door haar 'met middelenvan justitie' bedreigd was. Zij had 10.000 gulden ingebracht in haarhuwelijk en dreef met haar man een zeilmakerswinkel, maar zij leefde -zeker na de dood van haar man - veel te verkwistend, zodat ze nu nogmaar 2.000 gulden over heeft. Naar hem wil ze niet luisteren, dusverzoekt hij de heren van de wet om hem officieel tot haar curator aante stellen, alsof ze minderjarig was. (ASV 35-214 e.v.)#
