Na drie jaar Latijnse School in Meerhoudt (Oostenrijkse Nederlanden) ging hij naar Leuven voor een theologiestudie. Die studie heeft hij niet afgerond, omdat hij in 1785 (moet 1786 zijn?) tijdens de zomervakantie is overleden
