Het was namelijk de dochter van de burgemeester, die met de zoon van de vorige burgemeester trouwde. Twee dochtertjes werden op Keizersgracht 470, waar het jonge paar zijn intrek
had genomen, geboren. Daarna besloot het echtpaar tot de aankoop van het dubbele
pand Keizersgracht 672. En de lezer kan misschien al raden, wat er ging gebeuren. Niet ten onrechte zegt men: ‘l’histoire se repète’. Juist honderd jaar geleden had zich hier het drama van het jonge echtpaar Trip met twee kleine meisjes afgespeeld en nu zou zich de geschiedenis herhalen, maar in nog korter tijdbestek. Op 31 oktober 1883 nam de familie Fock zijn intrek in het grote huis, op 14 januari 1884 vertrok Abraham Fock naar Parijs om niet meer in Nederland terug te keren.
