    Hertog Otto I van Beieren (Kelheim, 1117 - Pfullendorf, 11 juli 1183), uit het huis Wittelsbach, was een zoon van paltsgraaf Otto IV van Scheyern-Wittelsbach en Heilika van Langenfeld. In 1156 volgde hij als Otto VI zijn vader op als paltsgraaf van Beieren. Hij ontpopte zich tot een vurig medestander van keizer Frederik I (Barbarossa). Na de afzetting van Hendrik de Leeuw in 1180 beleende keizer Frederik hem met het hertogdom Beieren. Otto regeerde er als hertog Otto I van 1180 tot 1183. Hij voerde een doordachte steden-, adel- en huwelijkspolitiek. Hij huwde met Agnes van Loon (-1191), dochter van graaf Lodewijk I van Loon, en werd vader van:
    - Otto (-1181)
    - Sophia (1171-1238), die huwde met landgraaf Herman I van Thüringen (1155-1217),
    - Heilika I, die huwde met halgraaf Diederik van Wasserburg
    - Agnes, die huwde met graaf Hendrik van Plain (-1190)
    - Richarda, die in 1186 huwde met graaf Otto I van Gelre
    - Lodewijk I (1173-1231), die huwde met Ludmilla van Bohemen
    - Heilika II, die huwde met graaf Adelbert III van Dillingen (-1214)
