    Zundert is een gemeente in Noord-Brabant. Op 30 juni 2008 had deze gemeente 21.060 inwoners (bron: CBS). De gemeente beslaat een oppervlakte van 119,84 km0, waarvan 0,24 km0 water.
    De gemeente bestaat uit de volgende kernen: Zundert, Achtmaal, Klein-Zundert, Rijsbergen en Wernhout.
    Door de gemeente stromen de Aa of Weerijs, de Kleine Beek, de Moersloot, de Raamloop en de Bijloop.
    Geschiedenis
    De naam Zundert komen we voor het eerst tegen in een akte van 1157, waarbij de bisschop van Luik de schenking van tienden van Sunderda bevestigt.
    De beroemdste inwoner van Zundert ooit is de schilder Vincent van Gogh. Zijn jongere broer is er begraven in 1832, zijn grafsteen is er nog steeds te zien op het kerkhof bij de NH kerk, waar Vincent van Gogh's vader predikant was. Niet het graf van de Vincent, maar van zijn een jaar jongere broer die net zo heette. De schilder Vincent van Gogh (op 29 juli 1890 overleden door zelfdoding met een revolver) is evenals zijn broer Theo, die een half jaar later overleed, begraven in Auvers (Frankrijk).

    De eerste samenkomsten van de gereformeerden in deze omgeving vonden plaats in een schuur te Rijsbergen of onder de linde, midden in Zundert. Nadat later de dienst in een particuliere woning of in de pastorie werd gehouden, heeft ds. Ten Cate in 1805 de eerste steen gelegd voor het huidige kerkje, dat in 1806 in gebruik is genomen. De huidige pastorie, die de opvolger is van de pastorie waar in 1853 Vincent van Gogh is geboren, dateert uit 1904.
