Op bevel van voorlopige aanhouding door de rechter commissaris te 's Hertogenbosch van 12-10-1910 in 's Hertogenbosch vastgezet op verdenking van diefstal met inklimming. 18 oktober wordt hij weer in vrijheid gesteld

Als soldaat bij de 3e comp, 1e bat, 6e regiment Infanterie wordt hij door de krijgsraad in 's Hertogenbosch op 5-9-1917 veroordeeld tot 5 dagen. Het misdrijf bestaat uit "Het tusschen een half uur na zonsondergang en een half uur voor zonsopgang al s bestuurder rijden over een weg met een rijwiel dat niet is voorzien van minstens een lantaarn die voorwaarts een helder wit licht uitstraalt". Zit in Breda zijn straf uit van 1 tot 6 december 1917.
