Notes about Eelke Sinia

(Research):Eelke had, net als zijn vader, op Texel als zetbaas een bedrijf toegewezen gekregen: de 'Samarang/Oorsprong". Het huidige adres is: Oorsprongweg 79. In 1805 stond op de 'Oosternol' in het uitgestrekte schorrengebied een huisje. Hier werd na de inpoldering in 1835 een huis met een schapenstal gebouwd. In 1840 waren de eerste bewoners Eelke Sinia uit Grijpskerk en Aart Nieman uit Ouddorp, bedrijfsboeren van de Sociëteit (van Eierland).
Bij de boerderij Ons Genoegen/de Volharding staat verder nog:
Door de Sociëteit van Eierland werd in 1836 de boerderij 'Ons Genoegen' gebouwd. De eerste zetboer was de ongehuwde, uit Grijpskerk afkomstige Eelke Rens Sinia, die in 1839 het veldboek van 'Ons Genoegen' bijhield. In 1841 werd de veldinventaris van 'Ons Genoegen' en 'Samarang', de latere 'Oorsprong" gecombineerd. Tot 1842 was de boerderij in eigendom van de combinatie Van Hall en consorten.

Een succes was het niet al dat gewroet in het Texelse zand, want toen Eelke in 1844 trouwde werd als beroep vermeld: 'Grossier in sterke dranken' en woonde hij, net als zijn ouders, in Bedum. Hij en zijn vrouw woonden daar op nr. 179.
Kinderen hebben ze niet gehad. Na de dood van Eelke is Rinske terug gegaan naar haar familie in Bergum en is daar 1889 overleden.
In de rouwadvertentie stond:
Heden middag omstreeks 2 uur overleed onze geliefde Zuster en Tante RINSKE CORNELIS KRAMER, Wed. E.R. Sinia, in den ouderdom van ruim 68 jaren.
Namens de Familie, Th. KRAMER.

Op 21 maart 1889 werd het huis dat lag "ten westen van de Straatweg tussen het Gebuurte en de Dam te Bergum", per opbod verkocht. Het bestond uit een gestucadoorde voorkamer met marmeren mantel, kleine voorkamer met alkoof, gestucadoorde gang, logeerkamertje, linnenzolder, keuken, kelder, bergplaats, regen- en putwater met koperen kranen, enz., groot 0-07-90 el.
Bij de zelfde verkoping werd ook haar huisraad geveild, dat volgens de advertentie van notaris OOSTERBAAN bestond uit: welonderhouden mahonij- en ijpenhouten meubelen en huisgeraden, spiegels, bedden, tapijten, kagchels, koper, tin, en aardewerk
