    Alberta L. Mouw, age 92, of Monroe, died Tuesday, September 17, 2013, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 20, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe. Burial will follow at Silent City Cemetery. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service on Friday. Memorials may be directed to Skiff Hospice and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.

    The daughter of Herman and Agnes (Holub) Kafer, Alberta was born on May 15, 1921 in Mason City, Iowa. She graduated from Mason City High School. On September 17, 1945, she was united in marriage to Warren "Ben" Mouw in Sheldon, Iowa. Alberta moved to Monroe with her family in 1967. She was a member of the Monroe United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading, doing puzzles and crocheting.

    Those left to honor her memory include her three children, Tom (Sherrie) Mouw, Gene Mouw, and Jane (Dwayne) Pitt all of Monroe; four grandchildren, Stacie (Brad) Wagaman, Greg (Heather) Mouw, and Ben and Jordan Pitt; four great grandchildren, Celeste (Wagaman), Chase (Wagaman), Tristan Doehne (Mouw), and Braedon (Mouw) and a sister, Lorraine Kafer of Mason City. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, three brothers and two sisters.
  • She is buried September 2013 in Monroe Cemetery, Monroe, Jasper County, Iowa, Verenigde Staten.
