    Calvin, son of Ben and Hattie (Ramaker) Mouw, was born January 25, 1924 in Sioux Center, Iowa. He lived his youth on a farm near Sioux Center. Calvin was united in marriage to Wilma Huitink on April 6, 1944 at Sioux Center, Iowa. After their marriage they lived on a farm near Sioux Center. They moved into town in 1983. Calvin was a member of the Central Reformed Church. He was a long-time member of the Sioux Center Saddle Club and a lifetime horseman in the area.

    He is survived by his wife and eight children: Barbara (Mrs. Jim) Vermeer of Sioux Center, Iowa, Yvonne (Mrs. Dave) Whitaker of St. Paul, Minnesota, Cathy (Mrs. Dennis) Rozeboom of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Monty Mouw of Spooner, Wisconsin, Scott and Karen Mouw of Sioux Center, Iowa, Kristen (Mrs. Rod) De Jong of Yorba Linda, California, Tim and Sue Ann Mouw of Brookings, South Dakota, Todd Mouw of Sioux Center, Iowa; thirteen grandchildren; four brothers: Lawrence Mouw of Sioux Center, Iowa, Harold Mouw of Rochester, Minnesota, Peter G. Mouw of Sioux Center, Iowa, Orvin Mouw of Burleson, Texas; three sisters: Madeline (Mrs. Gerrit) Gesink of Sioux Center, Iowa, Berniece (Mrs. Ed) Rozeboom of Sioux Center, Iowa, Faye (Mrs. Vern) Huisman of Orange City, Iowa.

    Calvin was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Steven.
