Let op: ter voorkoming van verwarring: Franciscus van Essen, dominee te Kootwijk en Grietje Hendriks van Essen (zie elders in deze genealogie) kregen een dochter Nennetje. Deze Nennetje schonk in 1811 een Bijbel aan de kerk te Kootwijk. Onderstaande teksten betreft dus een andere Nennetje dan de Nennetje Teunissen van Essen.

1800, 30 jul., Mejuffrouw Nennetje van Essen verkoopt aan Steven van Selm het huis in Barneveld staande tussen Breunis van Putten en de Groenesteeg aan de westzijde voor f. 1.400,-.

1811, mrt., Schenking bijbel aan de Ned.Herv. kerk te Kootwijk. Tekst: Mejuff Nennitjen van Essen dochter van Franciscus van Essen in zijn leven godsvruchtig Leeraar der Hervormde gemeente I.C. te Kootwijk heeft mij Gerrit Jan Smalbraak, zijnde de 4den opvolger ... bijbel geschonken. bron: De Navorscher.

Tekst in Bijbel: Mejuffrouw Nennitjes van Essen, Dochter van Franciscus van Essen, in zijn leven Godvruchtig Leerraar der Hervormde Gemeente J.C te Kootwijk, heeft mij, Gerrit Jan Smalbraak, Zijnde den 4den Opvolger van haren Zaligen Vader, in het Jaar 1811, in de maand Maart, Dezen Bijbel uit Liefde voor, en tot instandhouding van den Godsdienst in deze Gemeente, waarop Zij veel betrekking heeft, en waar aan Zij Zeer verbonden is, tot gebruik op den Predikstoel in de Kerk van Kootwijk gegeven.

De Nennetje van de Bijbel (Nenna) overleed op 10.01.1831 te Kootwijk in de leeftijd van 76 jaar.

De geschonken bijbel ligt nu in Kootwijkerbroek op de kansel.
