who visited Jim and Mattie often.
Mattie Estelle and James William Tharp lived in a tent at one time in
their lives. James had acquired some lumber for the floor and corner
posts and a canvas cover for it.He had bought a bed, wood stove,
dresser, table and chairs and the lumber for$120.00. At the time, they
had five children so this would have been about1935-1937. That was alot
of money at that time.

They got married on August 30, 1926 at Nady, Arkansas, Arkansas, he was 20 years old.Source 1
