On April 11, 1765, Samuel Howland, Jr., called yeoman, and his wife Esther sold their farm consisting of the ninety-seven acres, buildings and fencing, conveyed to him a few weeks earlier by his father for four hundred thirty-six pounds and ten shillings to his uncle, Jonathan and Lydia (Sisson) Soule (Bristol County, Mass., Deeds, 48:22)
