Will of Joseph Eakins-- my comments are in ( ):
I, Joseph Eakins, of the countyof Rutherford in the state of North Carolins being at this time in a low stateof health though in perfect and sound mind and menory calling to mind the uncertainity of life and the certainly of death do make this my last will and testament. I resign my soul to God who gave it and my gody to decent burial at the discretion of my executors nothing doubting but that I shall arise again at thelast day. I do therefore give and bequeth unto my loving wife, isabella, my negro weaman [sic] slave named Caty during her life and at her death to my daughter, Sally Biggerstaff. I likewise to give unto my loving wife the plantation that I now live on during her natural life to be equally divided between my sons,John and George. I likewise give to my loving wife all
the money on hand and all the money that is indue? me for her support together with the house, ? , furniture and her choice of the horses and one cow and calf, her choice of as manyof the negros as she wants, all my other estate to be sold at Landue ? (I think this is a community in NC), at twelve months credit and one tract of two hundred acres of land lying on the Buffalo Branch (this was cut off in the originaldocument)

the will continues---- Samuel Biggerstaff (husband of daughter,Sarah Eakins) is mentioned but I can’t make the sentence out--

the money arising from the sail [sic] of my estate as ? directed is to equally divided
amongst my lawful heirs with Sally Biggerstaff & Isabella Wilkinson (daughters), Thomas Eakins & Samuel Eakins, George Eakins and John Eakins. I do hereby constitute and ?
Samuel Biggerstaff & James? Mcgahey to be my executors of this my last will and testament and revoking all others in testamoney. ?? the said JosephEakins both ??
