3. Obituary courtesy of Virginia Anders. Obit and headstone lists this man
as Jones P. Benton. Original funeral marker in 1993 listed his first
name as Jonas. This makes more sense as he was probably named after his
grandfather Preston Jonas Benton.
4. Died following an accident at Georgetown, SC on the Thursday prior to Feb
26 1973. Funeral rites were conducted at the home of his sister, Daisy
Benton Nelson.
