James T. Tompkins

James Trenton Tompkins, 71, of Calabash, died Friday, July 28, 2000, athome.

He was born June 21, 1929, in Brunswick County, the son of the lateLonnie B. and Mary Hardee Tompkins.

He was the widower of Elouise Tompkins.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Medlin Tompkins of Calabash; twosons, Rick Tompkins of Ash and *Greg Dixon of Georgetown; threedaughters, Pam Boyd of North Myrtle Beach, **Christa Tompkins ofWilmington, N.C., and **Sharon Fox of Ash; two sisters, Ann Housand ofLongs and Mary Pearl Bellamy of Calabash; seven grandchildren, onegreat-grandchild; and his canine companion, Zack.

Visitation will be follow the funeral service.

The funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Coble Ward-Smith FuneralService, Supply chapel. Lower Cape Fear Hospice Chaplain Jim Maudlin willofficiate.
