George Washington Harrelson, 77, retired farmer of the Mt. Vernon sectionof Horry County died February 9, 1962, near his home due to drowning.

Mr. Harrelson was born on February 24, 1884, a son of the late EliasBryan and Mary Catherine Harrelson. He was a member and deacon of the Mt.Vernon Baptist Church. He had lived and farmed in the Mt. Vernon sectionfor the past 42 years. His wife, the late Mrs. Lula Fowler Harrelson diedJan. 5, 1961.

Survivors include three sons, Guthrie Harrelson, Rt. 4, Loris, EarlHarrelson of Baltimore, MD, Ansel Harrelson, Rt. 4, Loris; fourdaughters, Mrs. Joe (Lera) Royals, Rt. 5, Conway, Mrs. Berry (Reba) Toddof Conway, Mrs. John (Eroleke) Royals, Rt. 4, Loris and Mrs. Ottie (Dot)Stevens of Charleston Heights; two sisters, Miss Doretha Harrelson andMiss Elnita Harrelson, both of Rt. 1, Loris; 23 grandchildren and 25great grandchildren.
