CRUSOE ISLAND -- Shelton Norris, 76, died Sunday, Oct. 29, 2000 at his home after an illness.

He was a native of Columbus County, the son of the late Martin Vester Norris and Mary Eliza Nobles Norris. He was preceded in death by his wife, Moulcie Norris.

Final rites were conducted Tuesday, Oct. 31 at 2 p.m. in the Inman Chapel by the Rev. Paul Vernon Hewett. Interment was in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Tabor City. Inman Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

He is survived by three daughters: Sayde Trawick and husband Bill of Helena, Ala., Janie Gaskins and husband Ronald of Tabor City, Katie Rowell and husband Wendell of Loris, S.C.; four sons: Lloyd Norris of Ash, Floyd Norris and wife Brenda of Tabor City, Roy Norris and wife Patricia of Tabor City; Russell Norris and wife Pam of Whiteville; three sisters: Lue Blonnie Hardison and Allie Spivey, both of Whiteville, and Clara Cartrette of Chadbourn; a very special friend: Carol Watts of Whiteville; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
