John Frink , the ancestor of all the Frinks of New London county (CT), went to Stonington as early as 1666 and bought a tract of land on the Taugwonk, in Stonington, upon which he erected a dwelling for himself and his family. He took part in King Philip's war. When he moved to Stonington, he took with him his wife and three daughters. All the children were born between 1658 and 1680.

From Daughters of Founders and Patriots: John was a Lieutenant in King Philip's War. He was in Stonington as early as 1666, he was one of the first carpenters in town.
