Sir James Ogilvy, of Airlie and Lintrathen, co. Forfar, son and heir ofSir John Ogilvy, of the same, possibly by Marion, 2nd daughter of SirWilliam Seton, of Seton, b. about 1430, succeeded his father about 1484(in which year he was one of the guarantors of the treaty of peaceconcluded with the English), was, on 28 Apr 1491, created Lord Ogilvy ofAirlie.
