Ky. Date from Marilyn Tanner who explains that Jane Jr. age 20 is
Martha Jane Taylor's daughter by his first wife, Patsy Higgins.
From Pulaski County, Kentucky Deed book 23 page 376: "This indenture
witnesseth that I Jane Taylor late Jane DICK of the county of Pulaski
State of Kentucky and legal heir of John DICK dec'd, hereby for the
consideration of Fifty Dollars, to me in hand paid, the receipt of
which is hereby acknowledged bargain, sell, grant and convey to John C.
DICK of said county and state my undivided sixteenth (16th) part in and
to a certain tract of land lying and being in the County and State
aforesaid and on the waters of Rock Lick Creek, and being my entire
interest in the lands owned by said John DICK dec'd at the time of his
death --- containing --- acres, and I hereby warrant the title to my
said sixteenth (16th) part, to him John C. DICK, his heirs and assigns
forever, against the claims of all persons, except the life estate or
dower therein of Liddy DICK, widow of said John DICK dec'd. Given
under my nad this 1st day of November 1869 Jane (her x mark) TAYLER
State of Kentucky Pulaski County E.D. PORCH clerk of the County Court
of the County aforesaid do certify that the foregoing deed from Jane
Tayler to John C. DICK was on the 1st day of November 1869 produced to
C.J. Sevire(?) my deputy at the residence of _______ and ackowledged by
said Jane Taylor thens to be her act and deed in due form of law.
Which deed is stamped with internel Revenue Stamp of the denomination
of fifty cents and that I have received it and this certificate in my
said office. Witness my hand this 30th day of December 1869. Att:
E.D. PORCH clk."
Her death place is unkown as she was listed as the widow Jane DICK
TAYLOR in the 1880 U.S. Census Russell Co., Ky but is buried in the
Mintonville Methodist Cemetery, Casey Co., Ky.
