Notes about Catherine Emma "Kitsey" Benton

Joan Russell - Nov 6, 2001 Viewers | Reply to this item I remember a Christmas story that my grandmother used to tell us about her grand mother Cathrine Emma Benton Gore. She said she was about five years old at the timeand times were hard, and her parents were Martha Patricia Gore Frink and Solomon Dock Frink.

She told us that all she wanted was a doll, and that her grandmother made her a hand made doll that year for Christmas. After I heard that story she showed me the doll that she had made and how she had kept it all those years.. Well my parents had 7 girls and times were hard for us that year and we didn't know if we would had any gifts at all that year. When I woke up that Christmas there laying beside me was that doll that my grand grand mother had made her. Till this day I still had it and when I am sad I look at that doll and the memories of all the good times I had with my grandmother comes flowing back too me.
