Notes about Arnulf I "The Bad" Duke of (Arnulf I "The Bad" Duke of) Bavaria

Note on Jim Weber's database :The Phillips, Weber, Kirk, & Staggs families of the Pacific Norhtwest" on Rootsweb worldconnect:
I originally had Arnolphous Count of Malus & Arnulf "The Bad" Duke of Bavaria, as two different people, until I noticed the similarity in names, the approximate birth/death dates, and the parents indicated (Arnolphous' parents were Luitpold Count of Carinthia & Cunigunde of Swabia). Which leads me to believe that Arnolphous & Arnulf were one and the same person. I have not found "Malus" on any map, but it certainly could be a synonym for "Bad". Carol Collins, in her post to SGM, named him "Arnolph Malus, Duke of Bavarioa", which seems awfully close to "Arnulf the Bad, Duke of Bavaria".Agnes was considered to be a wife of Count Malus, and she could have been a mistress (or pagan wife) while Arnulf was married to Judith, or Agnes could have been his 2nd wife, making her also mother of Arnulf's younger son Leopold. Judy Collins had Agnes as daughter of a different Prince of Hungary (Toxus), but her dates had him born about the same time as I have Zoltan in the line I was following. I am not sure which Prince of Hungary was her father? @check ancestryTurton has Gerberga of Wurzburg as Arnulf's only wife and mother of all of his children. Since Turton has the eldest son Arnulf II born 907, which is before Arnulf's marriage to Judith (910), I am making Gerberga Arnulf's 1st wife and mother of Arnulf, with the remainder of the children by his other two wives.
