II. Robert (Sir), of Caus, knt, whose younger son, Richard, accompanied King Richard I. to the seige of Avon. The eldest son, Sir Robert Corbet, was lord of Caus, in the 22 Henry II and was ancestor of the Barons Corbet, of Caus, no extinct, and of the Corbert,s, formerly of Leigh, but now of Sundorne Castle, near Shrewsbury. Burkes Commoners and Extinct Baroncies has his father as William Corbet, however, indications are that William died sp and all his inheritances went to his nephews - Roger, William, Richard, and Roger.
