    Gregory Scott Taylor, age 42 of Somerset, KY. passed away Wednesday October 16, 2013 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

    He was born on March 8, 1971 in Somerset, KY to Lewis and Violet Wesley Taylor.

    Scott was a member of Old Fashion Faith Baptist Church. He was a Math Teacher at Southern Middle School and a former softball coach of Pulaski County Lady Maroons. He loved to teach, and loved making a difference in the lives of his students. He was an avid sports fan, especially loved the Cincinnati Reds and the Kentucky Wildcats. Scott loved spending time with his family and especially looked forward to Sunday meals at his mom and dad's house.

    He is survived by his parents, Lewis and Violet Taylor of Bethelridge, KY. His wife Jackie Taylor, whom he married on November 27, 2004 at Denham Street Baptist Church. His son, Chandler Lewis Taylor of Somerset, KY., one brother, Robbie (Lori) Taylor of Liberty, KY and one sister, Sue (Jason) Strunk of Science Hill, KY. Also survived by his mother in law, Brenda Taylor of Somerset, KY., one aunt, Drucilla Spears of Winchester, OH, three great-aunts, Dollie Wesley, Louise Wesley and Minnie Elliot. Brother in law, Chris Taylor of South Amherst, OH, nephews Jacob Strunk and Braylon Taylor and a niece Kaylee Strunk. Special aunts and uncles that he loved also, Anna Pearl McKee, Della (Bro. Noel) Dodson, Jeanie (Billy) Taylor, Leonard (Arlene) Taylor and Brent (Darla) Mitchell.

    Visitation will be held Friday October 18, 2013 after 5pm in the Remembrance Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.

    Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday October 19, 2013 at 1pm in the Remembrance Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Greg Powell and Bro. Tim Riddle officiating.

    Burial will be in the Southern Oaks Cemetery.

    Following the services, dinner will be provided in the Community Center of Southern Oaks.

    Pallbearers will be Jack Roney, Kevin Randolph, Eric Stephens, Russell Morrow, Chris Taylor, J.C. Tucker, Alan Dodson and Dale Dodson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Robbie Taylor, Brian Cravens, Keith Lawless and Jason Strunk.

    In lieu of flowers the family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the Chandler Taylor College Fund C/O Forcht Bank.
