    Herbert L. Goetz, 88, of Waynesburg, passed away Monday, Aug. 6, at his home.
    Born July 27, 1924, in Ottenheim, Herbert was a son of the late Fred and Martha Hertle Goetz. He was a farmer, had served with the Waynesburg EMS for over 30 years and was a faithful member of the Mt. Hebron Baptist Church serving as a deacon for more than 43 years.
    Herbert was also preceded in death by three sisters, Clara Haben, Lizzie Otten and Blondina Goetz; five brothers, Herman, Carl, Johnny, Freddy and Robert Goetz; and one infant brother.
    Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Clessie Ann Willoughby Goetz of Waynesburg, whom he married on Dec. 4, 1948, in Lexington; daughters, Scena Ann (Willie) Petrey of Stanford and Mina Sue (Doug) Lane of Nancy; a son, Leroy (Mary Ann) Goetz of Waynesburg; six grandchildren, Brad Petrey, Kevin Goetz, Kathy Peek, Jamie Waddell, Keith Goetz and Jeremy Goggin; 10 great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; three nephews; and two nieces.
    Visitation is tonight (Aug. 9) from 5 to 9 p.m. at McKnight Funeral Home in Crab Orchard.
    Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 10 at McKnight Funeral Home with Bro. Dan Gutenson officiating. Burial will follow in Double Springs Cemetery in Waynesburg.
    Active pallbearers will be Brad Petrey, Kevin and Keith Goetz, Jeremy Goggin, John Peek and Adrian Waddell.
