Notes about Archie Scoggins

Scoggins, Zella Zella Wanda Hambright Scoggins of Midland died Sunday, Feb. 27. Services will be 3 p.m. today, March 2 at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home. She was born Dec. 22, 1908 to Samual Brock and Ella Teaney in Tamaha, Okla., where she was raised. She married Ernest Hambright in the 1930s and the couple moved to Midland in 1958. She married Archie Scoggins in 1975 . She retired from the Midland Memorial Hospital diet department in 1975 and had published a book of poems, "Thought Trends." She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Hannah Sunday School class.She was preceded in death by her husbands, parents and three sons.She is survived by three sons, Ray Hambright and Edward Scoggins, both of Midland, and Alton Scoggins of San Angelo; daughter, Dorothy Mazac of Midland; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.Memorials may be directed to the Allison Cancer Center, 301 North "N" St., Midland, 79701 or Hospice of Midland, P.O.
