She was a member of Kings Mountain Church of God, volunteer of the NC Cooperative Extension as a 4-H leader of the Dixon 4-H Club, and a substitute for the Kings Mountain City School system. Her goal in life was to enrich the lives of children.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar "Bud" Green; a brother, the Rev. Paul Francis Lanier Jr.; a sister, Hazel Jones; and a grandchild, Benjamin Roe Chilcote.She is survived by her children and spouses, James Michael Green and wife, Betsy, of Waldorf, Md., Gloria Diane and Tom Moon of Concord, Sheila and Philip Cowherd of Harrisburg, Shirley and Rex McQueen of Boone, Margo and John Ward of Greenville and Amy and Ray Chilcote of Lincolnton; sisters, Cora Belle Rouse and the Rev. Kenneth of Gastonia, Virginia ?Jean? Francisco and Cliff; 12 grandchildren, Angie Wheeler, Rebecca Green, Alex McQueen, Bryan Green, Shannon Moon, Philip Cowherd, Andrea Moon, Kristin Cowherd, Uriah Ward, Isaac Ward, Julian Ward and Micah Chilcote; and two great-grandchildren, Jasmine Wheeler and Miriam Wheeler.Burial will be in Mountain Rest Cemetery
