    Silas Dale Whiles, 73 years of age, son of the late Silas Elva Whiles and Nellie Fugate Whiles, was born at Science Hill, Kentucky on September 5th, 1937 and he departed this life on April 11th, 2011.

    He was survived by one son, Curtis Dale (and Sarah) Whiles of Somerset, Kentucky; one grandson, Nicholas Tyler Whiles of Somerset, Kentucky; two brothers, Floyd (and Pauline) Whiles and Leon (and Dorothy) Whiles both of Somerset, Kentucky; and two sisters, Ola Jean Abbott and Juanita Cash both of Somerset, Kentucky; and a very special neighbor and friend, Murl Price of Somerset, Kentucky.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Silas Elva and Nellie Whiles; three brothers, Arnold, Harold "Little Turk" and Ferrell Glynn Whiles.

    Dale worked for many years at the Lear-Siegler Plant, then he later worked for Asaih Motor Wheel, he also worked with several farms hanging tobacco in the fall. Dale was a quite kind person who will be greatly missed by all who knew him, he leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn his passing.

    Visitations were held at the Pulaski Funeral Home on Thursday, April 14th, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

    Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday afternoon, April 15th, 2011 in the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Dunbar officiating.

    Burial followed in the Science Hill Cemetery in Pulaski County, Kentucky.

    THIS IS A TRIBUTE IN MEMORY OF SILAS,

    I'd like the memory of me
    to be a happy one.
    I'd like to leave an after glow
    of smiles when life is done.
    I'd like to leave an echo
    whispering softly down the ways,
    Of happy times and laughing times
    and bright and sunny days.
    I'd like the tears of those who grieve,
    to dry before the sun
    of happy memories
    that I leave when my life is done.
