a widow and her husband had been G. W. Garrett. She was Born April 5, 1844 in
Georgia and died July 4, 1932. Informant was Mrs. C. C. Cook. Her father was
J. H. Baker born Georgia and mother was Mary Ann Mills born Virginia. Burial was
July 5, 1932 in Whites Chapel in Ft. Worth, Tarrant County, Texas.

Rites Held for Stroke Victim

Mrs. Mattie Garrett, 76 is Stricken in Church

Funeral services were held today at the Lucas Funeral Home for Mrs. Mattie Garrett, 76, resident of Fort Worth for 15 years, who died yesterday following a paralytic stroke Sunday night while at church. She never regained consciousness. Mrs Garrett was stricken while attendingservices at the First Baptist Church Tabernacle, Lipscomb and Morphy Streets. She died yesterday afternoon at the home of her grandson, G.T. Farris, 2415 Dalford Street. Rev. J. Frank Norris officiated at the services. Burial was in White's Chapel near Grapevine.
Survivors are five daughters:

Mrs. F.W. Jannett, Caldwell

Mrs. Garrett, 76
Native Texan Dies

Stricken with paralysis while at church Sunday night, Mrs. Mattie Garrett, 76, native Texas, died at the home of her grandson, G.T. Farris,2415 Dalford Street, at 3:50 O'Clock yesterday afternoon.

Mrs. Garrett was at the First Baptist Church Tabernacle at Lipscomb and Morphy Streets shortly before services began when she slumped in her seat. A physicaian in the congregation attended her and she was removed to the Farris home. She did not regain consciousness.

Mrs Garrett was born in Brenham, and had lived in Fort Worth most of the past 15 years. She celebrated her seventy-sixth birthday anniversary April 5 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. F.S. Lane in Morgan.

(This obit listed the same survivors but adds "15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren". It also adds "Pallbearers; Johnny Baker, Clarence Null, Turner Farris, John Winters, Claude Shivers and Henry Crossen".

Mrs. Mattie Garrett Will Be Buried Today

Funeral services for Mrs. Mattie Garrett, 76, will be held at 4 o'clock Tuesday afternoon a t Lucas Funeral Home, Rev. J. Frank Norris officiating. Burial will be in Whites Chapel Cemetery near Grapevine.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Baker, Clarence Null, Turner Farris, John Winters, Claude Shivers and Henry Crossen.

Mrs. Garrett died Monday afternoon at the home of her grandson, G. T.Farris, 2415 Dalford Street, after a stroke of paralysis suffered while attending services at the First Baptist Church Sunday night.

Born in Brenham, Mrs. Garrett had lived in Fort Worth most of the last 15 years. She is survived by five daughters: Mrs. F.S. Lane, Morgan; Mrs. W.C, High, Ft Worth; Mrs. J.E. Newman, Mount Pleasant; Mrs. F.W. Jannett, Caldwell, and Mrs. J.E. Heine, Grand View, Indiana; a sister, Mrs. W. M. Null, Waco; two brothers, W.A. Baker, Cyril, Oklahoma;and J.H. Baker of Los Angeles; 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

I have to wonder about the half brothers and sisters of Martha's not being mentioned as survivors. There were, that I know of, atleast twohalf brothers and one half sister still living at the time.
