Mary Bell “Tip” Godbey Vaught, 95, North Hwy. 1247, Somerset, Kentucky, daughter of Isaiah Godbey and Ella Irvin Godbey passed away Friday, March 25th, 2005 at her residence.
She was born December 4th, 1909 in Bethel Ridge, Kentucky. She was a Supervisor for 27 years at Palm Beach, Somerset, Kentucky and a member of Bethelridge United Methodist Church, Bethelridge, Kentucky.
She is survived by two sisters; Ilean Vaught, Indiana and Leota Cox, Indiana: two nieces; Betty (and Jr.) Kidd, Somerset, Kentucky and Shirley (and Jimmy) Shadoan, Science Hill, Kentucky: several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents: her husband; William Chester “Check” Vaught, whom she married on December 25th, 1940 and who passed away on August 2nd, 1976: four brothers; Josh, Alvin, Mike and Troy Godbey: two sisters; Christine Vaught and Euretha Wesley.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m., Sunday, March 27th, 2005 at the Chapel of Morris and Hislope Funeral Home by Brother Brian Janes officiating. Burial will be in Bethelridge Cemetery, Bethelridge, Kentucky. Visitation will be after 1:00 p.m., Sunday, March 27th, 2005 at Morris and Hislope Funeral Home.

GODBEY, Joshua, 79, of 492 Stringtown Road in Science Hill passed away September 12, 2001 at his residence. He was born in Bethelridge, KY, son of the late Isiah Dye Clifton Godbey and Ella Catherine (Irvine) Godbey. He was a carpenter, veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII and member of West Science Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Grace (Durham) Godbey, whom he married August 25, 1990 in Indiana, three step sons, Frank Ryan of Science Hill, Patrick Ryan and Dan Ryan both of Cromersville, IN, six daughters, Shirley (and Jim) Shadoan of Beech Grove Community, Helen (and Paul) Warren of Cinn. OH, Pat (and Gene) Clark of Bethelridge, KY, Betty (and JR) Kidd of Science Hill, Evelyn (and Randall) Cox of Burnside, Charlotte (and Bob) Duvall of Beech Grove Community, four sisters, Mary Belle Vaught of Somerset, Ilene Hall from IN, Leota Cox of Attica, IN, Retha Barnhart from IN, fifteen step-grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren by his wife Grace and twenty-one grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, twenty four great- grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren by his 1st wife, Pauline. He was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Pauline Randolph Godbey, whom he married April 4, 1942 and who passed away August 25, 1989, three sons, Lester "Peanut" Godbey, Isiah Godbey and David B. Godbey, a daughter, Angela Gail Godbey, three brothers, Alb, Mike and Troy Godbey and one sister, Christine "Doll' Vaught. Funeral services will be 2:00, Sept. 15, 2001 at Memory Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home in Somerset, with the Bros. David Eastharn and Darry Hatfield officiating. Burial in the West Science Hill Cemetery, Science Hill, Military Honors by American Legion Post #38. Friends are invited to call Friday after 6:00 at Memory Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to, Hospice of Lake Cumberland, Bethelridge United Methodist Church or West Science Hill Baptist Church.
