* Columbus Co. Abstracts of Deeds and Wills book. Dated Dec 20, 1831. Moses Tyler to my son J. Jackson Tyler, at my decease and his mothers, 100 acres on East side of Grissetts Swamp, 200 acres adjacent to the above tract, 100 acres on Black Creek. Witnesses: Levi Soles & William Spivey.
* Columbus Co., NC Court Minutes, February Term 1832 - Deed of Moses Tyler to John J. Tyler was acknowledged in open court.
*Columbus County Court Minutes, February Term 1833. It is Ordered that agreeable to a petition to this term that the district on the road leading from Whiteville to Conwayborough from Gum Swamp to the State Line be divided in two districts and that J. Jackson Tyler be the overseer between the two Swamps and work the former hands.
*Abstracts of Columbus County Court Minutes Vol II, November Term, 1832. John Todd appeared & gave bond of $500 with William Gore and Jackson Tyler as Security for the support of a bastard child begotten on the body of one Nancy Rhodes.
