Mrs. Dessie Lee Singleton Dick, age 98, of the Bethelridge Community passed away Sunday, Jan. 13, 2008 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.She was born in the Kidder Community of Wayne County on Oct. 15, 1909 to the late John C. and Sarah Ellen Black Singleton. She was a member of Carter Ridge Baptist Church. Mrs. Dick enjoyed her family, quilting, and gardening.Mrs. Dick is survived by a son, Enos (and Shirley) Dick, of Nancy, Ky.; six daughters, Edith Fields, of Loveland, Ohio, Stella (and Donald) Atkinson, of Newcastle, Ind., Iva (and Jack) Hines, of Cincinnati, Ohio, Eva (and Virgil) McFarland, of Blandchester, Ohio, Geneva (and Carrol) Irvine, of Sulfer Springs, Ind., and Ruth (and Cyrus) Wesley, of Bethelridge, Ky.; a sister, Rhoda Jasper, of Science Hill, Ky.; 21 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law,Phyllis Dick, of Cincinnati, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Otis H. Dick, whom she married on Aug. 30,1927 in Pulaski County; a son, Garvis Dick; two brothers, Bluford Singleton and Dewey Singleton; five sisters, Doshie Treet, Nettie Stephens, Eva Collins, Nannie Wilson, and Elsie Singleton; a grandchild, Ray Hines; and a son-in-law, Delmas Fields.Funeral services for Mrs. Dessie Lee Dick will be held on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008 at the chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home at 1 p.m. with Bro. Richard Owens officiating. Interment will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery.Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008 at 6 p.m. at the chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.Condolences can be sent to:www.lakecumberlandfuneralhome.com.
