Mr. John Ballard McLeanPosted: Thursday, June 28, 2007Mr. John Ballard McLean, age 95, of Griffin, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2007, at Spalding Regional Medical Center. Mr. McLean was born May 26, 1912, in Fayette County, to the late John Morgan McLean and the late Sara Ballard McLean. Mr. McLean served in the United States Marine Corps in the South Pacific during World War II. He was a retired accountant with R.E.A. and a member of Woolsey Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Gladys Goodman McLean of Griffin; brother-in-law Weldon Goodman; and several nieces and nephews, among them John Morgan McLean II, William McLean and Joe McLean. Funeral services for Mr. John McLean will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, June 29, 2007, at Woolsey Baptist Church. The Rev. Chuck Chambers will officiate. Interment will follow in Woolsey Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may visit the family from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 28, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions in memory of Mr. McLean to the International Mission Fund at Woolsey Baptist Church, 115 Hampton Road, Fayetteville, GA 30215.
