    GEORGE ELCANEY SIGMAN
    George Elcaney, son of Joel and Mary Sigman was born on December 10, 1861 and departed this life on December 3rd lacking only 7 days of being 88 years of age. On November 7, 1879 he was united in marriage to Melvina Boles at Willow Springs, Missoouri. To this union 14 children were born, 8 sons and 6 daughters, his companion and 2 children, Elmer and Amelia Elliott preceded him in death.
    He was converted in early manhood and united with the Methodist church and was always faithful and took an active part to this faith having served as trustee and steward for many years.He leaves to mourn his departing 12 children, Louie Potts of Simmons, Elsie Altis of Houston, Oscar, Mayme and Homer of Caifornia, George, Dave, Will, Fred and Bob of Elk Creek, Stella Rust, Cabool, Mabel Stouse of Waverly, Illinois, one brother F.L. of Mountain Grove, he is also survived by 42 grandchildren, 63 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren and his friends were beyond number. To know him was to love him, because of his kind and cheerful disposition, a loving father, brother, and grandfather has gone from our midst, but his last request to his loved ones was for them not to grieve for him for he was not afraid to meet death, but was prepared and ready for the master's call. A wonderful life has now come to a close.
    Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at Steely Chapel, Rev. Payton officiating. Burial was in Steely Chapel Cemetery under direction of Elliott Service.
